The present guidelines issued by the China Register will be applicable to the classification surveys conducted on oil FSVs, standing for the floating storage vessels in order to confirm their compliance with the conditions including laid-up double hull oil tankers with the cargo tanks and relevant hull systems having oil storage function, and fixed anchorage in the restricted marine. Learn to use yacht radar correctly with this superb Radar Training Simulator, as used in most RYA Radar Courses. Gain years of radar experience in hours.Avai.
The officer on watch must be able to maneuver the ship in any conditions: adverse weather and sea conditions, high-density traffic areas. He must be able to navigate 'blind' too.
This software allows students, Cadets, Officers and Captains to verify the correct execution of drawings and calculations on the maneuvering board to have all the movement data of the ships in the area. The file allows them to simulate all evasive maneuvers and within few seconds to choose the most suitable maneuver.
The software concurrently supplies all information of 5 targets for anti-collision decision making. Of course the most important data is the CPA (closest point of approach).
The officer will obtain the following data for each vessels :
- CPA - closest point of approach
- TCPA - Time to CPA
- RML - Relative Motion Line
- SRM - Speed of relative motion
- Direction - True course of the vessel
- Speed - Speed of the vessel
“ Radar sheet “
After having collected the data of the target/vessel in two different times at least 6 minutes apart :
- Time 1 : bearing 1 & range 1
- Time 2 : bearing 2 & range 2
the user will need to enter in cells with a green background :
true course and speed of own ship:
for each target: time, bearing and range
Time (separator symbol between hours and minutes): be careful to entertwo dots 16:15 or dot (16.15) using the editing keys according to the operating system (OS) and not the dot in the numeric keypad !
a partial look at the Radar Screen:
CPA (closest point of approach), TCPA (Time to CPA), RML (Relative Motion Line), Relative Speed, Direction (True course of the vessel) and Speed of the vessel are immediately displayed !
' EvasiveAction sheet '
It allows to perform trial maneuvers, including speed changes, course changes, and combined course/speed changes.
In this sheet the officer can simulate the 'anti-collision' maneuver by entering hour / minute of the maneuver, new true course and new speed of own ship:
Default Action Time : it is the time of the last radar observation incremented by one minute (the user can still modify it).
On the right side of the sheet : the Maneuvering Board after the ' Evasive Action ' :
All new data of vessels will be displayed:
- The length of the vectors indicating the true course of the targets is not proportional to their speed.
- The distance scale is fixed at 1: 1
- Speed scale: the default setting is to 2: 1 on either the 'Radar' sheet or the 'EvasiveAction' sheet (user can set it to 1: 1).
For further notice see Notes sheet in the file.

EPA (Electronic Plotting Aid) or ATA (Automatic Tracking Aid) or ARPA (Automatic Radar Plotting Aid) ?
General Rules : Equipments
All passenger ships and ships between 300 and 500 gt (gross tonnage) : 1 radar (X-Band) at least with an Electronic Plotting Aid (EPA) allowing electronic plotting of at least 10 targets (without an automatic tracking )
Ships over 500gt: the ATA equipment operates with an automatic tracking
Ships over 3000gt: 2 Radars fitted with an ATA. The ATAs must be independent of each other. Radars 2 operating in S-Band
Ships over 10.000gt : 2 radars - Radar 1 equipped with ARPA ( manual and automatic acquisition, at least 20 targets, automatic tracking and target information for for anti-collision decision making displayed. Radar 2 equipped with ATA or ARPA.
An outstanding synergy between a skilled programmer (of Dutch origin living in Indonesia) and a professional navigator (Italian) have led to the publication of this program in excel. About two months of work by Mr. Schaap for analysis, development and testing with daily contacts between Indonesia and Italy led to numerous 'alpha versions' after the release of the 'final version'. Jelle Schaap has been able to grasp and interpret the needs of those who go by sea: to him the merit of the realization of this project.
This training simulator software is the choice of professional sea schools for radar training courses. The Radar TRaining Simulator offers hands-on experience navigating a choice of vessels within a virtual world, using either of two styles of radar set. All necessary elements of the virtual world are created by selecting one of the supplied exercises. Optionally, you can edit an existing exercise, or create new exercises to suit your exact training requirements.
Simulator Description
The Radar Simulator is PC software, supplied on a CD. The program must be installed to the hard drive of the PC and is then launched from its desktop icon when required. At launch, you have a choice between simulating a conventional green-screen CRT-style radar set and a more modern monochrome LCD-style set. It is also possible to have both types of radar screen active simultaneously. When used in conjunction with the Radar Plotting Tutorial, the two radar software programs constitute a complete course of marine radar training for small craft sailors.
CRT Green-Screen Radar
The CRT-style set has a separate knob or button for every function. This is ideal for beginners, who are still learning which setting or function they require, as the relevant control is always visible and clearly marked. ('Tour of the Controls' movie)
LCD Monochrome Radar
In the popular style of many modern radar sets, the LCD-style radar set uses Menus and Soft-Keys to access more functions using fewer controls. The disadvantage of such controls for beginners is that they must learn not only which function or setting to control, but how to access that function. It may take three or four actions to perform the equivalent of rotating one knob on the CRT set.
Radar Exercises
Marine Radar Simulation software, free download Windows 7
The virtual world within which the simulation takes place is selected by loading one of the supplied exercises. It is easy to select any exercise from the Exercise Control panel. This panel also provides buttons to Start, Stop, Pause, or Reset the current exercise. There is also an option to accelerate time and increase the amount of training during a given session.
Once an exercise is running, you have a choice of either autopilot or rudder and throttle with which to control your vessel. Mouse recorder pro 2 full version. Response to the controls is modelled to simulate the behaviour of the chosen vessel.

Radar Exercise Manager
Every detail of any exercise can be monitored or modified via the Exercise Manager window. The positions of each vessel, buoy or other contact updates in real-time. The properties of each vessel or other contact can be viewed or modified whenever the exercise is stopped. Exercise areas are selected and then any object can be placed or moved within that area.
Collision or Grounding
If your vessel either collides with another vessel, or runs aground, it will halt and the status is shown on the Exercise Manager window. Unlike real life, when either of these incidents can be fatal, within the Simulator you can simply Stop the exercise, Reset, and Run again, looking for a better way to interpret or reacting to the situation, as it unfolds on the radar screen.
Networked Version of Radar Simulator
When Professional licensed versions of the Radar Simulator are run on PCs linked by a standard Windows™ network, one PC can be designated the Instructor and the others as Students. Activity of the Students' simulators can be monitored and controlled from the Instructor station. This network mode is an optional selection when launching the program.
Video and PDF Tutorials
The CD includes a large number of tutorial files, either as PDF (Text and Picture) or in Movie Clip format. These are different from the interactive Radar Plotting Tutor software product. There are tutorials to assist with installing and running the Simulator, plus descriptions of each major function on the simulated radar sets.
